Affordable Housing Providers of Oklahoma (AHPOK) exists to support the apartment owners and property managers who make safe, income-based housing possible across the state.
For nearly 40 years, we’ve equipped affordable housing professionals with the training, advocacy, and resources they need to keep communities strong and residents secure.

AHPOK was originally incorporated in 1985 as the Rural Rental Housing Association of Oklahoma. Our early focus was on helping rural communities and FmHA (now USDA Rural Development) properties provide stable, affordable homes. Over time, our role expanded to include properties supported by Section 42, HUD, and other programs.
To reflect this growth, we became Affordable Housing Providers of Oklahoma, a registered 501(c)(6) nonprofit dedicated to serving the entire spectrum of affordable housing providers in the state.
Oklahoma’s affordable housing providers face unique challenges: strict compliance rules, limited budgets, and residents who depend on them for safe and reliable housing.
AHPOK steps in to make that work easier by offering:
The result: more informed providers, healthier communities, and better outcomes for Oklahoma families and seniors.
AHPOK is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors made up of housing professionals from across Oklahoma. Their combined experience ensures our programs address the real needs of those working in affordable housing every day.
Whether you own or manage apartments, work in compliance, or simply care about strengthening affordable housing in Oklahoma, AHPOK is here to support you. Explore our Membership Benefits or Register for the Convention to get involved.
